Lucky for so long

For his 15th album, Ed has gone back to his roots, writing a collection of new songs from a more personal perspective.

These follow his two previous albums of songs written as explorations of other viewpoints (Portraits of People I Never Knew, 2022 and Flights of Fancy, 2023).

You may notice the song titles begin with the letters A to M - these are the first 13 of an alphabetical series (the last 13 are still to come).

Themes include self examination, confidence and development, with some lyrics becoming delicate 'notes to self' you can listen in on.

Some are also outward-looking, considering love, relationships and kindness.

The instrumentation also goes back to basics: piano, guitars, drums and bass, with occasional flourishes from other sounds, all recorded at 2nd hand studio, Dundee.
